Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of warunited.com ("WarUnited", "the Platform", "we"). By creating an account, submitting content, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

WarUnited provides educational military information, an archive of veteran memorial pages, veteran resource directories, and community features. The Platform is provided for education, remembrance, and veteran support. It is not a source of operational, legal, medical, or financial advice.

2. Accounts & eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for the security of your credentials.

3. User content & memorials

• You may only create a profile for a living veteran with that veteran's documented consent.
• Memorial pages for deceased veterans may be created by family members or with family authorization; disputed pages may be frozen pending resolution.
• You retain ownership of content you submit, and grant WarUnited a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, and preserve it as part of the archive.
• All submissions pass through moderation and community reporting. We may edit for format, or remove content that is false, disrespectful, unlawful, or glorifies violence.
• Founding historical profiles are compiled by WarUnited editors from the public record (national archives, official citations, veterans' ministries) and are cited on each page. Verified descendants may claim stewardship of these profiles, request corrections, or request removal.

4. Prohibited conduct

• Harassment, hate speech, or the celebration of atrocity or conflict.
• Impersonating veterans or their families, or submitting knowingly false records.
• Scraping, reselling, or misrepresenting Platform data.
• Using the Platform to target, dox, or endanger any person.

5. Military data

Country military figures are approximations compiled from reputable public sources (government publications and established defence references). They are provided for education, carry no warranty of accuracy or currency, and must not be relied upon for any operational purpose.

6. Donations

Donations are voluntary and, unless stated otherwise, non-refundable. WarUnited will publish an annual summary of how funds are allocated.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time; memorial pages you created may be preserved in the archive, with personal account data removed, unless you request otherwise.

8. Disclaimers & liability

The Platform is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, WarUnited disclaims all warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced on the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
